THE MINIATURE WORLD MINIATURE FESTIVAL – May 25, 2024 (Military History Park)

On May 25, 2024, the Military History Park will for the third year in a row host the international miniatures festival “The World in Small”, organized by the Society “The World in Small”, in which hundreds of model makers and modelers from different countries will participate, who will compete in the competition for the best miniature in different categories. On this day, the exhibited artificial miniatures of military vehicles, vessels and scenic displays will significantly complement the museum’s display of military technical heritage. As part of the festival, a display of model making and a model flea market will also be organized.

WALK ALONG THE ROUTE OF MILITARY HISTORY – May 26, 2024 (Military History Park)

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, the Military History Park is preparing a Hike along the Circular Route of Military History for all lovers of hiking and active leisure time. From in front of the Military History Park, hikers will follow the traces of the military historical heritage past the former military training ground at Kota 110 to the mysterious underground fortress of the Alpine Wall in Primož, accompanied by an informative guide’s explanation. From here, the route will lead to the top of Šilentabra, where one of the largest anti-Turkish fortresses in Slovenia once stood. The hiking efforts will then be facilitated by the descent to the tourist village of Narin, from where the hike will end in a circular fashion back in the Military History Park.

HISTORY WEEKEND – 13.-15. September 2024 (Military History Park)

This year, the Military History Park is also preparing ZgodoVikend on the third weekend of September, this time between September 13 and 15, 2024, as the central museum event of the year and the largest military history event at the national level! ZgodoVikend, which with a new guise succeeded the former Festival of Military History, is designed as a multi-day series of events intended for intensive learning and experiencing of history. ZgodoWeekend traditionally begins with Vestirnga, the annual familiarization of military conscripts organized by the Defense Administration, whereby conscripts are brought to the event on traditional conscription wagons. The lively event continues on Saturday with an enriched museum program, numerous museum guided tours and the Stanislav Požar Barracks open day, and culminates on Sunday with demonstration drives of armored vehicles from the collection’s rolling stock and a dynamic presentation of the Slovenian Army and Police.

The organizer reserves the right to change the program.
